Bill proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1970-1972, serving in the Vietnam War in the 1st Marines Division. After serving his country, he worked for the U.S. Forest Service in California. He will be remembered first and foremost as a very proud marine.
He had formerly been married to Julie Shine. Together they raised their son, Yancy James Fowler in Elkhart Lake.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Vernon Fowler & Kevin Forcier, one sister Diane Szydell, and his adopted parents, Iona and Archie Forcier.

He is survived by his loving partner of twenty years, Mary Jo Seibel, Kiel, his son, Yancy Fowler, Elkhart Lake, three sisters, Suzette Harris, West Bend, Judy Buda, South Bend, IN, Anna Lee (Paul) Manard, Belgium, one brother, Craig "Nap" Forcier, Crystal Lake, sister-in-law, Marie Forcier, Grafton, Mary Jo's children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Bill started his culinary career at the "Black Kettle" in Brown Deer where he helped the restaurant become a huge success. He went on to work at various restaurants in the Sheboygan area. Bill spent many years as a Chef at the Stagecoach Restaurant in Greenbush, Sal's of Elkhart Lake, American Club and Blackwolf Run in Kohler, and was a proud mentor to many up-and-coming young chefs. Bill was a gifted chef, and had a following of customers wherever he went.

He was known for having a kind and generous heart and had a sense of humor that was truly one-of-a-kind. His wit and willingness to make everyone feel at ease was a gift. Bill had a passion for "great" music from Frank Zappa to BB King and everything in-between. He was an avid reader and student of history, spending countless hours sharing his knowledge with others.

Bill was happiest when he had a cocktail in his hand, a prime rib in the oven, and his family and friends surrounding him.

According to Bill's wishes, cremation has occurred. A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held at Brown Baer, 181 E. Rhine St., Elkhart Lake on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
