Obituary

Violet Stephany died on October 25, 2018 in Kiel at the age of 93. She was a resident of Oak Creek Assisted Living.

She remained "fat and sassy and full of the dickens." Those who knew her will absolutely remember her as sassy. She loved every day and loved to tease those around her.

Vi was born in Kiel, graduated from Kiel High School and with her first husband, Wally Fenn ran the Chippewa Bar and Restaurant in Kiel. It was known for the Friday night fish fry which she was proud of even though she wouldn't eat fish.

In 1979, Vi married Oscar Stephany. He preceded her in death in 2000. After Vi retired, they liked to work in their yard and planted many trees. They also like to take short driving trips around the state.

Vi was employed at Tecumseh after the bar and restaurant. She was also active in the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Women's Guild of St. Peter's UCC in Kiel. She was a member of St. Peter's.

Survivors include family members: Diane (Brian) Nelson, Minneapolis, MN; Steven Fenn, Kiel; Douglas Fenn, Gregory Rundquist, Sheboygan ; Joanne (Jerome) Kobriger, Chilton; Robert (Andrea) Stephany, New Holstein; Allan (Barbara) Stephany, Mt. Calvary; Mary (John) Koenigs, Tipp City, OH; Linda Deml, Chilton; John (Ilene) Stephany, New Holstein; James (Joan) Stephany, New Holstein. Sister-in-law; Jean Diefenthaler, Kiel. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sister Eleanor Diefenthaler brothers Wilbur and Willard Diefenthaler; son Scott Fenn; Michael (Marianne) Stephany, Robert Deml.

The funeral service for Vi will be held at 1:00pm on Monday OCTOBER 29 , 2018 at St. Peter's UCC (424 Fremont St. Kiel) with the Reverend Christopher Ross officiating. There will be a visitation at the church on Monday from 12:00pm until the time of service.

Special thanks is extended to the loving staff at Oak Creek Assisted Living in Kiel. She loved living there and loved the care of the staff. Also, thanks to Heartland Hospice for its attention in Vi's last days.
