Thomas "Tom"
Orth
Nov 23, 1961 — Apr 5, 2022
Kiel
Thomas "Tom" Orth, 60, of Kiel, passed away on April 5, 2022, at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, after a three-year battle with lung cancer.
Tom was born November 23, 1961, to the late Gale and Carol (Hartman) Orth. He attended SS. Peter & Paul grade school and graduated from Kiel High School in 1980. On May 12, 1984, Tom was united in marriage to Victoria (Sand).
Tom was employed by the Kiel Foundry for his entire career. He also spent time giving back to the Kiel community; he was an engineer on the Kiel Fire Department, a paramedic for the Kiel Ambulance Service, and a soccer coach with the Kiel Soccer Club. Tom enjoyed camping, watching sports, playing solitaire, and spending time at Henschel's Trout Farm but his favorite thing to do was hunt.
Tom loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He particularly enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play sports and would brag about their successes—past, current, and those he could foresee in the future.
Tom is survived by his wife, Vicki; two children, Heather (Jason) Nett and Luke (Rebecca) Orth; and five grandchildren: Chloe, Kelsey, & Bella Nett and Dane & Stassi Orth, all of Kiel. He is further survived by his siblings Paul (Jeanette) Orth, Peggy (Steve) Nothem, Mary (Steve) Foate, and Sue (Victor) Schneider; his sisters-in-law Cindy (Roger) Freund, Kathy Heth, and Pam (Richard) Grundman; his godson Jeremy Werdeo; his aunts and uncles Mary Ann DeChant, Kathryn "Kitty" (David) Bunge, and Charles Orth, many other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and his canine companion, Willow.
Preceding Tom in death are his parents, his in-laws Fred and Patricia Sand, nephew & godson Kevin Foate, brother-in-law Richard Heth, aunt Janet Stecker, and uncle Vernon Hartman.
A funeral service for Tom will be held at 4:00pm on Friday, April 8, 2022, at St. Peter's UCC (424 Fremont Street, Kiel). The family will greet relatives and friends for visitation at the church from 2:00pm until 3:45pm. Cremation will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Tom's name.
Tom's family would like to give their appreciation to the Kiel Ambulance Service, and the staff at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital and Lombardi Cancer Clinic.
