Stanley R. McCabe, age 90 of Kiel, died peacefully on Thursday evening, September 15, 2022 with his family by his side at Aurora Medical Center, Sheboygan County.

Stan was born to the late Cecil and Ida (Wegner) McCabe on June 14, 1932 in Manitowoc County. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War; through his time in the military he was able to travel around the world on the good ship USS McNAIR, learning more in his short time in the military than one could learn in a lifetime.  On October 10, 1959, he married the love of his life; Verna Raatz in Clark County.  Stan was employed with Tecumseh Products for over 43 years, retiring in 1994.  Retirement was not for Stan, he found himself keeping busy by helping out local farmers as well as fixing lawnmowers.  When he wasn't working, he could be found fishing or looking for deer.  Going for drives, to stop and visit old friends and neighbors was also something that Stan looked forward to, but most of all was his family.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Verna; three daughters: Donna (Blake) McGaughy, MS, Doris (Gary) Rabe, Fence, WI and Denise (Ben) Summers, New Holstein;  six grandchildren: Justin and Erin McGaughy, Joey (Sallie) Rabe, Haley (Alex) Milbrath, Alyssa (Zack) Purser and Courtney (Tony) Haen; three great-grandchildren: Jasmine McGaughy, Kori and Cleo Milbrath; and his sister and brother: Ruby Pitsch and Walter (Dianne) Gierke.  Stan is further survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Norman (Nancy) Raatz, Delores (Gary) Ewald, Gene (Gloria) Raatz and Junior Raatz; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Stan was preceded in death by his parents, grandson: Corey Schmidt-Rabe, brothers and sisters: Donald (Marcie) McCabe, Philip (Rose Marie) McCabe, Ruth Butler, Vera (Donald) Sagle and brothers-in-law: Ralph Pitsch, Marvin Raatz and sisters-in-law: Gwen Raatz and Laurie Raatz.

Funeral Services for Stan will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church (387 Cemetery Rd, Kiel), with Rev. Brett Naumann officiating.  Burial will follow at the Schleswig Cemetery, Rockville with Military Honors accorded by the Kiel VFW Post #6707.  The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 9:00AM until 10:45AM when family rites will be held.

In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Stan's name.
