St. Nazianz
Scott G. Madson, of St. Nazianz, age 54, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
Scott was born on July 31, 1966 in Manitowoc, son of Ervin Madson and the late Bernadette (Schad) Madson. He attended St. Gregory Grade School and was a graduate of Valders High School in 1984. Scott was a graduate of LTC. On October 22, 1988, he married the former Renee Nauth at St. John's Lutheran Church, Plymouth.
Scott's father, Erv, started Madson's Service in 1971. Scott worked side by side with his dad until later owning the business. Scott had a very strong faith and was a lifelong member of St. Gregory Catholic Church. Scott loved to have fun, and especially enjoyed snowmobiling and camping. He loved working outdoors doing landscaping and gardening, and most importantly, looked forward to spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife: Renee; two daughters: Nicole (Bill) Feck and Emily Madson (Jake Stemper); grandson: Noah; father: Ervin Madson; sisters: Judy (Charlie) Geiser, Marlene (Mike) Zutz and Amy Recore (Don Lallensack); mother-in-law: Sandra Nauth; sister-in-law: Roxanne (Jim) Schmidt; nieces and nephews: Wendy (Scott) Schneider, Isaac Loritz, Eric (Amy) Zutz, Brady (Victoria) Zutz, Whitney Zutz (Cody Schamburek), Austin (Melanie) Recore, Brandon Recore (Maddy Duggan), and Tony (Karlie) Bettack. He is further survived by Rick Schuh, who was more of a friend than an employee, as well as other relatives and friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Bernadette Madson; father-in-law, Richard Nauth; and brother-in-law: Ryan Nauth.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30PM on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Officiating at the mass will be Rev. Paul Dumuth. Cremation will take place following the service and burial will take place at a later date in the church cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at church on Saturday from 9:00AM until 1:00PM when brief family rites will be held.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Vince Lombardi Cancer team in Two Rivers and the Aurora hospice team for their assistance.
The faithfulness that Scott exhibited to the very last moment is something that we can all draw strength and inspiration from.
