Rosalie M.
Henschel
Nov 18, 1948 — Aug 3, 2022
Russell
Rosalie M. Henschel, 73, of the Town of Russell, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at home peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Rosalie was born November 18, 1948, in Sheboygan, to the late Frederick and Martha (Huber) Marx. She attended Ada Washington School and graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1966. On November 29, 1969, she married Gary Henschel at Bethel United Church of Christ. Together, the couple worked on their farm, where Rosalie drove tractor, made hay and milked cows. They also owned and operated Henschel's Indian Museum and Trout Farm, where she managed the gift shop and gave tours. Rosalie was employed by Wigwam Mills, Mayline and Greatwood Log Homes. She also worked at Bordens as a lab tech, as an educational assistant in the Elkhart Lake school system and was a 4-H Leader. Rosalie was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ and served as a Sunday school teacher and choir member before joining St. Paul Christian Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, a member of the Ladies Aid, missions committee, and prayer chain. She enjoyed photography, gardening, especially flowers, wildlife, birds and naming her cows. Rosie was always there to lend her ear or a helping hand.
Survivors include her husband, Gary; her children, Tom (Kay) Henschel, Kiel, Kari (Rodney) Pearsall, Waldo and Jon (Jen) Henschel, Plymouth; 9 grandchildren, Derek, Clare and Amber Henschel, Alex and Eli Pearsall and Summer, Clayton, Elodie and Deacon Henschel; her brother, Steven Marx; her sister, Janice (Mark) Miller and her sisters-in-law, Judy (Larry) Doebert and Karen Mansker.
Rosie "Grammy" adored her grandchildren as much as they adored her. She loved to swim with them in the pond, snuggle with them on the couch, read stories to them, and tuck them in at night. Anyone who knew Rosie, knew that she loved children. Her ideal job was working with them at school.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister MaryAnn Olm and brother-in-law Bill Olm.
Funeral services for Rosalie will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul Christian Church (N8903 County J, Town Russell) with Rev. Ted McCurdy officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:45 p.m.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Aurora At Home Hospice, Dr. Mary Arenberg and Community Care for their care and concern. They would also like to thank everyone that offered them assistance, food and kept them in their prayers.
