Philip Lewis "Phil" Huff

Philip L. "Phil" Huff passed away on January 9, 2025 at the age of 83 years old. He was born in Aledo, IL on May 14, 1941 to the late Warren and Mae (Snelling) Huff. Phil grew up in Illinois and graduated from high school in Woodhull, IL. where he was on the basketball and football teams.

He attended University of Illinois and graduated from Brown's Business College and Illinois Western University in accounting and engineering. Phil worked for Wells MFG, Murphy Products, Stroh's Beer, Milk Specialties and Countryside RV. In 1963 he married Connie Nelson and they had 2 children. They later divorced and Phil has spent the last 29 years with the love of his life Marie "Mouse" (Schad) Huibregtse of School Hill. They loved camping, puzzles and were always working in the yard. For 20 years they collected and sorted can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.

Phil is survived by Marie, son; Dale Huff of Stockbridge, daughter; Diana (Mike) Zorn, grandchildren; Maya and Kyle Zorn of Green Bay, sisters; Rosalie (Ron) Barman of Rock Island, IL., Frances Truitt of Davenport, IA., brother; Richard Swartout of Crossville, TN. Further survived by Marie's family; Tom (Brenda) Schad, Paul Schad (Connie Adelmann), James (Carol) Schad, Pete (Darlene) Schad along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-dad; Ray Swartout, sister; Carolin (Earl) Boettcher, sister-in-law; Judy Swartout.

Phil was a kind and generous person who was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services for Phil will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday January 16, 2025 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home (815 6th St. Kiel) A time of visitation will take place at the funeral home from 3:00pm until 5:45pm when we will prepare for the funeral services. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery, Louis Corners.
