Peter Dorn, age 95, passed away on Sunday June 9, 2024 at Sycamore Lodge, Kiel. Pete was born March 29, 1929 to the late Peter Sr. and Bernadine (Walsdorf) Dorn. He attended SS. Peter and Paul grade school and graduated from Kiel High School in 1947.

On March 31, 1951 Pete married Elizabeth (Betty) Stecker at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church. The couple started life in Kiel where Pete was a salesman for Lake to Lake. In 1966 he fulfilled his dream and bought a farm in New Holstein. Pete had a passion for hog farming and cash cropping. During their 50 years on the farm he was also an assessor, town chairman, served on county board, and drove school bus for many years. Pete was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church where he served on finance committee and parish council.  Pete and Betty enjoyed traveling, especially to Montana, California, Alaska, and Spain. In 2016 they moved back to Kiel. After 68 years of marriage Betty, the love of his life, preceded him in death on September 27, 2019.

Survivors include his daughters:Terry (Paco) Dorn Sanchez, Spain and Lisa (Jim) Jens, Plymouth. Grandchildren: Tanya (Jeff) Mast, Madison, Sam Jens, Sheboygan Falls, and Emily Jens, Utah. Siblings: Sr. Lucy Dorn & Sr. Marie Bernadette Dorn both of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, Patricia Dorn Sheboygan and Patrick (Fran) Dorn Detroit, MI, Sisters in-law: Joan Dorn, Marlea Lenchek, and Dolly Stecker along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives

Pete was preceded in death by Betty, son Michael, daughter and son in-law Peggy (Dan) Buss, Sisters: Jane (Peter) Salm, Bernadette (Wayne) Engelman, and infant sister Janet, brother James Dorn, Brothers In-law: Rollie (Anna) Stecker, John Lenchek and Wally Stecker.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Saturday June 15, 2024 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, (423 Fremont St. Kiel) with burial to follow at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until 10:45 am when we will have brief family rites before Mass at 11:00am

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sycamore Lodge for their compassionate care and to Calumet County Hospice. Along with the many family and friends who visited or called. Dad had a full life and he often said he was glad he lived when he did.
