Obituary

Pamela J. Konen, 62, of Kiel, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 15, 2025, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, surrounded by her family. Pam's smile, gentle spirit, and warm heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Pam was born on November 18, 1963, in Rhinelander, the daughter of the late Thomas Follstad and Joyce (Wachal) Follstad. She graduated from Kiel High School. On April 16, 1982, Pam married the love of her life, Michael Konen, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 43 happy years of marriage.

Many will remember Pam from her years as a waitress at the Riverview Restaurant, where her infectious smile made everyone feel welcome. She later owned MIR Image (formerly known as Curves), a fitness center for over a decade, before joining Mike with the family business, Konen Sales and Service.

Family meant everything to Pam. She cherished time spent with her husband, daughters, and grandson, and enjoyed occasional weekend getaways with Mike up north and in the Dells. Pam enjoyed tending to her gardens, surrounding herself with bright, vibrant flowers, enjoying the birds and wildlife in the yard, crafting, and putting puzzles together.

Pam is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Mike; her daughters, Jenny (Marshall) Watts and Jean Heller; her grandson, Finnley Heller, who brought endless light to her life; and her granddog, Brady. She is further survived by her siblings, Bill (Chris) Follstad, Jodi (Jim) Schumacher, Jill (Brian) Westermeyer, and Missy (Rick) Stermer; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dianne (Walt) Gierke, Kay Konen, Mark (Rosi) Konen, Dean (Tammy) Konen, and Faye Konen; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold Pam close in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Follstad and Joyce Fesing; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Lorraine Konen; and her brother-in-law, Gary Konen.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home in Kiel with the funeral service to follow.

Pam's legacy of love, kindness, and that unforgettable smile will be missed but will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff at St. Agnes Hospital and the Kiel Ambulance for their care, compassion, and kindness.
