Norma
Brocker
Feb 2, 1934 — Oct 8, 2026
Kiel
Norma M Brocker, 92, of Kiel, WI, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, at her beloved
home with her daughter at her side, following heart complications. Norma was born on
February 2, 1934 to John & Anna Koeser in Johnsonville, WI. She went on to graduate from Kiel
High School in 1952. Norma then spent her factory career in Milwaukee (Master Lock), Kiel
(Lake to Lake), and then spent 42 years at Tecumseh in New Holstein, all while picking up her
smoking habit that lasted 50 years. Despite quitting cold turkey later in life, she still loved the
smell of cigarettes.
“Shorty”, “Stormin Norman”, or “Normie” was a one of a kind soul that if you ever had the
pleasure of meeting, you would never forget her. Her feisty personality was pure joy &
entertainment. She was so full of life and appreciated the simple things like her favorite
shopping boutique – St Vinny’s, where she also volunteered for 20 years. You could always find
her zipping around in her SUV, usually with a heavy foot, and sipping a piping hot cup of
McDonalds coffee (with 2 creams). If you rummaged through her purse, you were sure to find
her own portable salt shaker and a bag of root beer barrel candy ready to share. Norma
enjoyed all sports but particularly enjoyed going bowling, golfing, and playing softball. She also
spent time on the Lions’ bus trips to gamble at the Island. At home, you might have found
Norma shooting pigeons out of the silo and gophers in the yard, reading, or enjoying her TV
shows.
Family and faith were most important in her life. She was always very involved and her
relationship with her great-grandchildren was exceptionally special. She was the most limber
92-year-old you could ever meet, preferring to sit on her knees, on the floor, to play with the
kids. Sundays were meant for church at St. Peter’s UCC, snazzy outfits (with matching heels, of
course), and breakfast with the girls. Norma never wanted to be a burden and was blessed to
live independently up until her death, just as she wanted.
Norma is survived by her daughter Sandy (Blato) Blatz, granddaughter Cassandra (Sid)
Kirschbaum, grandson Brandon (Allison) Blatz, and her dearly cherished great-grandchildren
Roland, Kolby, & Harlow Kirschbaum, and Emma Blatz, who so fondly called her G-ma. She is
also survived by her sister-in-laws Marie Koeser, LaVerne Kabat, & Jean Fraser, godchildren Fred
Brocker & Eric Evjen, and dear friends Yvonne Basler & Vicky Heimermann
She is preceded in death by her parents John & Anna Koeser, sister Lorena (Richard)
Hildebrand, brother John (Arlene) Koeser, brother Merlyn Koeser, her nephews Jeff & Steve
Koeser and Jim Brocker, and her nieces Judy Koeser, Chris Ulfig, and Bonnie Ponto.
To Pastor Nicole, “Thank you for all of the good hugs”. The family would also like to send their
deepest thanks to the Aurora hospital & hospice teams for their care.
