Nancy L. Bauhs, 71, of rural Kiel and formerly of Hampton Bays, NY, passed Sunday evening February 4, 2018 with her loving family at her side at Aurora Medical Center – Two Rivers. She is the former Nancy Knudsen, born November 25, 1946 on Long Island, NY. Daughter of the late Arthur & Virginia (Montrose) Knudsen, Nancy was a graduate of Smithtown Central High School, and continued her education at the University of Buffalo.
Nancy had previously been married to Olafur Gudmundsson. On May 15, 1999 she was united in marriage to James Bauhs in Kiel. Nancy was a freelance artist and designer. She was well known for her knitwear designs and work in fiber arts. She was a member of the Patch of Lakeshore Quilters in Manitowoc and the Eastern Wisconsin Machine Knitting Guild. She was also active with the Kiel Historical Society.
Survivors include her husband; Jim, daughters; Elfrida Gudmundsson (T.J. Miskovsky) and Erika Gudmundsson (Matthew Prigge) along with numerous cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A time of Sharing and Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday February 10, 2018 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home (815 6th St. Kiel) Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. Guests will be welcome at her home after the service. A second service will be held in New York at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
