Matthew T. “Ziggy” Ford-Ziegelbauer, 39, of Kiel died unexpectedly Wednesday August 26, 2026 at his home. He was born on April 3, 1987 in Fond du Lac, son of Mark Ziegelbauer and Jana Ford-Ziegelbauer. Matthew attended Kiel schools and graduated with the class of 2005.

Matthew had worked for many years at the Osthoff in Elkhart Lake. Over the years he had many different roles and responsibilities, most recently working in the banquet area. He was a member of the Kiel Horseshoe League, Dart League and Beanbag League. Matthew enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing and spending time at the family cottage on Tuttle Lake. He was a huge Miami Dolphin fan but enjoyed all sports. Matthew enjoyed time spend playing games like yahtzee, cribbage and other card games.Above all else, his children were his greatest joy. He was a great dad, always making up new games to play, building cardboard houses or obstacle course to run through. He truly loved being outdoors with them, taking them to the park or playing in the yard.

Survivors include his children; Sophie and Nolan, significant other; Alexa Ochs, parents; Mark Ziegelbauer and Jana Ford-Ziegelbauer, his siblings; Majarka, Cody, Mikki and Noah Ford-Ziegelbauer, niece and nephews; Kegan, Isabella, and Emmett along with aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a niece Madison Kerber.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday September 4, 2026 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home. (815 6th St. Kiel) A private family service will follow.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for his children. Matthews family would like to thank the Kiel Ambulance Service for all their help and compassion.
