Marilee Laumann

Marilee A. Laumann, 85, of Kiel died peacefully on Tuesday morning August 25, 2026 at Froedtert Hospital, West Bend. She is the former Marilee Posik, born on December 3, 1940 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Broker) Posik. Marilee attended Holy Angels Catholic High School. She continued her education at UW Milwaukee where she received her degree in teaching.

On December 30, 1961 she was united in marriage to Paul Laumann at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Milwaukee. During their more than 50 years of marriage together they loved to travel and spend time at the cabin. Marilee especially loved making meals and special recipes for her family and Paul to enjoy. Marilee was a dedicated teacher for the Milwaukee Public Schools for many years until her retirement. She was passionate about education, and intent on making a difference for others. She cared deeply for her many students and friends she made throughout her career.

After retirement, she moved to Kiel where she was a member at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was active with the Kiel Library, the Kiel Educational Endowment Fund (KEEF) and the Kiel Garden Club. Marilee was also an avid quilter, belonging to several clubs. She loved to add a touch of whimsy toeverything around her. Her many creations are cherished by those who received them.Whether she was crafting, tending to her garden, paddling a canoe at the cabin, or jumping into the lake, she knew how to make ordinary moments extraordinary. She relished the time with her family, especially her granddaughters, who she spent countless hours crafting and sewing with. She also loved the family dogs, holding her dog Bear closest to her heart. Marilee enjoyed the trips to the cabin for as long as she could. It was her happy place, but more importantly, she also made a home away from home for all of her family.

Her dedication, generosity, and genuine care for others were the pillars of her life. She gave her time, her talents, and herself to those she loved most. To her family, she was a source of warmth, laughter, and love, and the countless memories and traditions (a one, a two, a doodly doodly doo) will live on in their hearts forever.

Survivors include her children; Mary (Allen) Boltik, John Laumann, Teri (Bill) Geiser, granddaughters; Selena Boltik, Alyssa Boltik (Ben Zachman), Nikki (Alex) Johnson, great grandchildren; Callie, Caeda and Chase. Further survived by her sister-in-law; Jean (James) Rutkowski along with other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Paul, sister; Jackie (Bill) Nienke.
