Obituary

Margaret C. (Feider) Mueller (85) of rural Newton, died peacefully on Sunday, October 24, 2021 with family by her side.  She was born in Sheboygan on May 6, 1936 to the late Joseph (JP) and Anna (Laures) Feider.  In 1954, she received her high school diploma from St. Mary's Academy, Milwaukee.

On September 17, 1955, she married the love of her life, Marvin E. Mueller at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Dacada.  Moving from Cedar Grove to the town of Centerville in 1960, Margaret farmed side by side with her husband until his untimely death on July 13, 1979.  With 6 minor children at home, she pulled up her boot straps, grabbed her rosary and continued farming the family farm with her children until 1998.  She worked various part-time jobs until her retirement.

Margaret believed in the power of prayer and relied on her deep faith to give her strength and guidance as she raised her children setting the expectation bar high. Her spare time passion was sitting at her sewing machine making everything from bridal attire to quillows and quilts.  She enjoyed grand family celebrations; attending activities of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and, of course, playing a competitive game of Sheepshead, Garbage or Rummikub!  She was a woman of deep conviction and not afraid to be an active advocate for her family, Catholic education, her beliefs in the right to life, farmland preservation, and traditional values of faith, family, and country.

Margaret was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church and served on the St. Gregory Catholic School Board.  She was a dedicated active member in the Manitowoc County Republican Party, served as secretary; chosen as a Wisconsin Delegate for the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minneapolis/St. Paul; and received the Alvan E. Bovay Award in 2014, "Star Awards",and  "Wisconsin Awards".   She was also a member of St. Isidore Christian Mothers serving as president, and was very active in the Manitowoc County Farm Bureau where she was honored as the "Farm Bureau Woman of the Year".

Margaret is survived by her eleven children: Marvin (Ann), Mary (Jim) Bonde, Monica (David) Clark, Michelle "Mickey" (Dave) Gumtow, Mark (Nancy), Marlene (Dennis) Dryja, Marcie (Todd) Strodthoff, Dr. Maureen (Rick Mori), Michael (Kelly), Melissa (Ed) Kwaterski, Matthew (Melia). In addition, she leaves behind 33 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother: Francis (Sharon), sisters: Helen (late Ray) Schultz, Mary (Joe) Kirklewski, Sisters-in-law: Grace (late Leon) Mueller, Mary (late Elroy) Mueller and Valerie "Mutzie" (late Warren) Neils, Marian (late Elmer) Feider, Loretta (late Anthony) Feider, numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by Marvin, her husband of 24 years; infant grandchildren Joseph and Sarah, her brothers:  Arnold (Lucille), Elmer, Wilmer (Marcella), Joseph (Elaine), Anthony, James, Robert and sisters, Sr. Mary Helen O.S.F., Delores (Oscar) Schmidt, Leona, and Bernice.  Sister-in-law, Deloris (Clifford) Benzschawel and additional brothers-in-law mentioned above.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at St. Gregory Catholic Church (212 Church St. St. Nazianz), Rev. William J. Brunner officiating. Burial will be at St. Isidore Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Meeme (Osman).  Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church from 3 to 7pm on Monday followed by a prayer service and Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:45am.
