Obituary

Lynaris "Lynn" L. Stadler, age 79, passed from this life into her eternal life with the Lord on March 28th at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.

Lynn was born on February 13th, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She grew up in Mazomanie, Wisconsin as the middle child of three daughters to Vivian and Oliver Knudsen. A committed and talented student, Lynn graduated as valedictorian from Mazomanie High School and continued her studies at UW-Platteville where she earned her Bachelor's degree in vocal music with a minor in English.

Lynn was incredibly involved in music since her youth, where she played piano for her school choir and for solos in solo & ensemble competitions. She partook in a variety of musical organizations throughout her college career including marching band (playing clarinet), general band (playing bassoon), woodwind quintet, vocal choir, and participating in the Madrigal Singers of UW-Platteville. She continued to contribute her musical talents to her community in her roles as an elementary music teacher, private piano instructor, and a musical director for Trinity Lutheran Church of Kiel. Lynn has touched so many hearts by sharing her love for music with her church, family, students and community over the years.

After college, Lynn began her career as an educator in Plymouth, Wisconsin, teaching vocal music at the Elementary Schools.  While there, she met the love of her life, Bill Stadler, who was teaching German and English at Plymouth High School.

Lynn sported a number of titles during her career; she served as a music educator, a piano teacher and music director.  She also served as a secretary for the Kiel School District where she proudly assisted her husband, Bill, during his career as a school psychologist.

Lynn is remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend by her family and all who knew her. Lynn's loved ones will forever cherish her humorous and loving nature, as well as the passion and enthusiasm she had for every one of her hobbies and skills, particularly in music.

Lynn and Bill shared their faith in Christ with one another from the very beginning of their relationship.  They would regularly attend church together before their weekly Sunday dinners with friends. On August 17, 1967, Lynn and Bill were united in marriage at St. John's Lutheran Church in Plymouth.  In 1973, they moved to Kiel where they raised their three sons. They did everything together, enjoying their church, their family activities, and even their work together. Bill and Lynn were the best of friends who were dedicated to building a happy and loving home.

Lynn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kiel. She had a tremendous faith and loved serving her church.  For over forty years, she shared her musical talents by singing in the choir, organizing and directing the children's Sunday School and Vacation Bible School music, accompanying the choir, and serving as the Bell Choir Director.  She and Bill also enjoyed visiting with church members who were unable to attend services, and would share audio and video tapes of the services with them.

Lynn and Bill enjoyed traveling and loved to visit various botanical gardens around North America. They were avid gardeners and would spend the majority of their spring and summer tending to their flower gardens. They took great pride in the beauty of their gardens and loved to share that beauty with family and friends.

In addition to her love for gardening, Lynn was certainly a cat person. Though she and Bill had many cats (and pets) over the years, one in particular became her emotional support animal more than any other before him. Gabriel (Gabe) came into Lynn's life quite by accident during a time when she was struggling with health issues. Lynn was overjoyed to have a kitten to care for during this time. As the years went on, Gabe served as a steadfast companion and source of comfort (and snuggles).

Lynn was an excellent cook and always had an ample stash of delicious baked goodies available to share with visitors to their home. In her later years, as most people experience, Lynn would find herself wide awake in abnormal hours of the night. Rather than tossing and turning and hoping for sleep, Lynn would make use of these restless hours by baking. It was not unusual for her family members and friends to swing over in mid-morning hours to discover a batch of fresh chocolate chip oatmeal cookies out on her kitchen table. When asked about this habit, Lynn would joke about how it served as a convenient form of payment to thank her children (or grandchildren) when they would run errands or do favors for her.

Lynn demonstrated an unparalleled love and devotion toward her family - they were her pride and joy.  She loved hosting holiday celebrations and preparing family feasts.  She always took great joy in making sure everyone's favorite foods were represented.  She relished the sound of laughter in their home and always knew how to make everyone feel loved.

Lynn is remembered and cherished by her family, including her sons Timothy (Sandra), Scott (Holly), and Eric (Mark); her grandchildren Tyler, Sarah, Sophia and Peyton; her brother-in-law, John Spangler, brother-in-law, James Stadler; sister-in-law, Alice Hrupka, and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lynn has joined her husband of fifty-three years, Bill Stadler, in their eternal life with the Lord, along with her mother, Vivian Knudsen, her father, Oliver Knudsen, sisters Elizabeth Spangler and Sandra Spencer; mother-in-law, Clara Stadler, father-in-law, Albert Stadler, and brother-in-law Paul Hrupka.

Cremation has taken place.
