Obituary

Lois M. Schuricht, 91, of Kiel, surrounded by her family, went to be with the Lord suddenly on Sunday, November 1, 2026 at Aurora Medical Center – Sheboygan. Lois was born March 5, 1935, in Sheboygan, to the late William and Emily (Schuette) Hoehnke. On September 19, 1953, she married Walter Schuricht at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Together, they raised four children on a dairy farm in the Town of Russell. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1995. As a proud farmer’s wife, she took pride in driving a tractor, baler and wagon. She held various other jobs throughout her lifetime.

Lois was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Christian Church. She spent time camping with her brother and sister which prompted her to buy a motorhome in her 80’s. She enjoyed flower gardening and visiting with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She took pleasure in driving and there were many stops at thrift stores, Menard’s and Culver’s.

Survivors of Lois include her children, Darlene (Gary) Scheidegger, Yvonne Otte (Gerald Ebbers), Mark (Sue) Schuricht, and SueAnn (Donald) Kohlmann.

Lois had 12 grandchildren. Andy (Michelle) Scheidegger, Dan (Kelley) Scheidegger, Tonya (Charles) Crook, CaSondra (Richard) Gimbi, Trenten (Calla) Otte, Brian (Teresa) Schuricht, Robert Schuricht (Katey Schuricht-Hasby), Heidi (Brian) Kraus, Scott (Gina) Kohlmann, James (Cortney) Kohlmann, Luke (Brittany) Kohlmann, and Mindy (Tim) Artz.

Lois was blessed with 35 great grandchildren - Brynn, Zachary, and Jacob Scheidegger, Evelynn, Jack, and Lucy Scheidegger, Havana, Avril (Brady), and Gabryela Crook, Conrad (Emily), Sgt. Jayden, Keegan, Grayson, and Braxton Gimbi, Lacey and Mason Batt, Wesley Johnson, Luna Olvera, Adlyn, Dayton, and Lilyan Schuricht, Jase Hasby, Cade, Brock, and Reed Schuricht, Nina, Kylie, Lorin, and Emmit Kraus, Paige and Payton Kohlmann, Colton and Dalton Kohlmann, Ava and Aly Artz.

Lois lived to see the fifth generation in her family with the births of Knox and Kaizley Crook.

She is also survived by sisters-in-law Dorothy Baumann and Dolores Bohrmueller, many other nieces, nephews, friends, and four legged grandbabies.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Louis and Anna Schuricht, her brother, Frederich (Delores) Hoehnke, her sister, Deloris (Harold) Miller, her brothers-in-law, Aaron (Ruth) Schuricht, Kenneth Baumann, Melvin Bohrmueller, sister-in-law, Hilma Stauss and her special niece, Kathy Froh.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Christian Church (N8903 Cty Road J, Elkhart) with Rev. Ted McCurdy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, at the church, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:15 p.m., when brief family rites will be held.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ambulance service and the staff of Aurora Medical Center – Sheboygan for their care and concern.

Mom always said, come home good, love you much.
