Lloyd A. Bornemann, 86, of Kiel, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at his home.  Lloyd was born May 8, 1937, in the Town of Eaton, to the late Henry and Louise (Bechle) Bornemann.  He graduated from Kiel High School.  Lloyd enlisted in the United States Navy.  On April 4, 1959, he married the former Linda Maxey in California.

Lloyd was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, was a Boy Scout Leader and served as the secretary in the Lions Club, where he was a lifetime member in Kiel, California, and New Berlin.  He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Kiel and California.  Lloyd was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather.  He always stayed busy and could fix anything.  He also enjoyed camping, golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting, and Sunday drives with his family.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, Linda, he is survived by his children, Dale (Lynn) Bornemann, Tim (Jennie) Bornemann, Julie (Ken) Prahl; his daughter-in-law, Vickey Bornemann and many precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He is further survived by his niece, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 6, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home, (815 6th St., Kiel)  with Rev. Nicole Herda officiating.  A time of visitation will be held on Monday, at the funeral home, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.  Interment will follow the service at the Schleswig Cemetery with military honors accorded by the  Kiel VFW Post #6707.
