Lambert J. Steffen
February 14, 1943 – December 28, 2024
Lambert Steffen passed away after a short battle with cancer on December 28, 2024. Lambert was born on February 14, 1943 to the late Raymond and Katherine (Binversie) Steffen. On June 11, 1966, he was united in marriage to Patricia Rozmarynowski at Holy Trinity Church in School Hill, WI.
Lambert was born, raised, and lived 75 years of his life in School Hill, where he embodied the meaning of community, neighborly comradery, lifelong friendships, and a strong faith. He was a renowned meat cutter at Brost Foods for nearly 30 years. He was employed at Nigrelli Systems – AquaMaster Division until his retirement. Lambert proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserve.
Lambert's workshop was a landmark in School Hill, where many people stopped to have a beer, brandy, and countless conversations. He spent many hours woodworking, cutting meat / making sausage, or sorting his harvest from his vast vegetable garden in the workshop. After retirement he could be found working on puzzles or running his train sets. He was a quick-witted man and a bit of a "jokester" especially to his children and grandchildren. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and grand-pups and would spend as much time as he could with them.
Lambert is survived by his wife Patricia, his son Timothy Steffen (Lance Kleeba), daughters, Christine "Molly" (Darrell) Dallman, Tina McCarthy, and Cindy (Travis) Strebe, granddaughters, Samantha McCarthy and Madison McCarthy, grandsons, Alex Strebe and Carter Strebe, sisters, Josephine (Don) Moss and Carol Heinzen, brothers, Michael (Marilyn) Steffen and Lawrence Steffen and a life-long friend, Larry (Pat) Bonde. Brothers-in-law, James (Mary) Rozmarynowski, Kenneth Rozmarynowski, Roger Rozmarynowski, and Steven (Linda) Rozmarynowski, sisters-in-law, Carol (Ralph) Koening, and Barb (Dan) Stuckman.
Lambert was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Katherine Steffen, brothers, Donald Steffen and Deacon James Steffen, sister-in-law, Rosemary Steffen, brother-in-law, Roman Heinzen father-in-law and mother-in-law; Harry and Katherine Rozmarynowski, sister-in-law; Nancy (Kenneth) Reichwaldt.
