Obituary

Kathleen M. Kopplinger-Gerharz, age 63, of rural Kiel, died peacefully on Sunday morning, July 24, 2022 at her sister Rosie's house surrounded by her son and sister after a brief hard fought battle with cancer.  Kathy was born in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Joseph and Shirley (Zillner) Kopplinger.  She was a graduate of Sheboygan North High with the class of 1978.  Kathy was a very dedicated to her employers, she worked for Nemak for over 39 years and most recently started working part-time  for LB Cleaning Service, where she loved every hour she could spend at work.  Kathy took great pride in her Hobby Farm that brought her and Michael so much joy.  She looked forward to her adventures of horseback riding as well as swimming.  Nothing meant more to Kathy though, than her son Michael and seeing all of his accomplishments.

Kathy is survived by her only son, Michael; sister: Rosanne Bauer; brother: Joseph (Tamara) Kopplinger; two nieces: Karissa Kopplinger and Kayley (Adam) Broehm and their son, Mason.  Kathy is further survived by her loving pet: Kitty, as well as many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law: Steve Bauer.

Per Kathy's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.  She will be laid to rest by her parents at Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan.

Per Kathy's wishes a memorial will be established with the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice Center.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice Center, for allowing Kathy to remain with her sister in her final days, as well as for all of the passionate care and support given to Kathy and our family during those days.  A special thank you to Jodi Hilton, for being there for all of us throughout this journey with Kathy, words can not express our gratitude to you.
