Karen "Peepers"
Truttschel
Mar 24, 1949 — Jun 25, 2023
Kiel
Karen "Peepers" Truttschel, 74, of Kiel spread her wings and was reunited with her husband Al on Sunday morning June 25, 2023. She left this world, as she was in life, surrounded by her loving children, who shared with her every moment of her journey.
She was born on March 24, 1949, daughter of the late Les and Ruth (Schmitz) Schmitz, and was a 1967 graduate of Kiel High School. She was a dedicated employee of Tecumseh Products for more than 40 years.
On December 16, 1972, she married the love of her life, Allan Truttschel at St. Ann Catholic Church, St. Anna. Peepers and AL T spent 43 years Together until he preceded her in death on October 17, 2015. Together, they raised their family and kept themselves busy shooting trap, fishing and snowmobiling. She always enjoyed taking trips north and spending time on the trails making memories with good friends. Everyone who knew Peepers knew she had a special place in her heart for casinos and doing "a little bit" of gambling. She never missed an opportunity to take a road trip with family or friends to visit a casino, and on a day when a jackpot was elusive, she'd smile and say, "it's only money, pigs won't even eat it". Her energy and fun loving personality will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children; Amy (Shaun) Prange, Kiel, Eric Truttschel (Jen Law), Appleton, grandchildren; Lila Rae and Kerigan Jo Prange, Bryce Allan and Dylan Daniel Truttschel, 2 brothers; Ken (Barb) Schmitz, Jim (Phyllis) Schmitz, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sandy Truttschel and Jerry (Carol) Truttschel, Mary Ann Ramaker and Alyce Mae Beeck, along with several nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband AL T, and sisters; Pat (Dennis) Wirtz and Marlene (Ron) Andrew.
Funeral services for Peepers will be held on Thursday June 29, 2023 at 6:00pm at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt- DeTroye Funeral Home (815 6th St Kiel) Burial will be in the Schleswig Cemetery in Rockville next to her loving husband. Peepers' family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Matthews and everyone at Matthews Oncology for their extraordinary care and support since her initial diagnosis in 2012, the staff and nurses at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion, and all of the Doctors and staff at Froedtert for their specialized expertise and care.
We are compelled to offer a very special heartfelt thank you to all of the dedicated followers of the Peepers Page for the last 4 years. All of your continuous support shown through comments of love and encouragement played a strong role in her never ending ability to stay motivated and positive in even the most difficult times.
Peepers children would like everyone who was blessed to know her to take inspiration from her journey, to find peace in her strength, and to always "be the things you loved most about the people who are gone".
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.
