Obituary

Judith Mae Kienbaum (nee Barnett), 81, of Kiel, Wisconsin, passed peacefully at home on Sunday, September 27th. She was known as Judi, with the “i” being very important. She was a dynamic individual and will be deeply missed.

She was born in Miles City, Montana on September 17, 1945. Her family moved to Milwaukee, WI when she was 13, and then to Stockbridge, WI, where she graduated high school in 1964. She met her husband, Dick Kienbaum, at Tecumseh Products. That love would last 61 years until her passing. They were a great team that raised two children (Paula & Dawn) to care about and explore the world around them.

In 2008, she retired from A.A. Laun after 20 plus years. She was the first woman to do setup. A huge lover of animals, she always had a dog by her side and supported many organizations, especially the humane society. She was an avid reader and artistic; drawing lovely ladies & horses for her daughters to color. She loved music and always encouraged everyone to dance. Hopefully, she’s dancing now with Dolly Parton.

Judi is survived by her husband, Dick Kienbaum of Kiel, WI; her daughter, Paula (Patrick) Knier of Kiel, WI; grandson, Elijah Knier; Son-in-Law Dick Lemke; grandsons Cody and Myles Lemke; twin brother David Barnett, and Sam (Jane) Barnett; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was proceeded in death by her daughter, Dawn Marie Lemke of Sayner, WI; her parents Irvin and Jessie Barnett; mother-in-law Elaine Kienbaum; her beloved sister Bernice Scott; Marlene Schoepp; brothers Virgil, Therman, Stephen, Phillip, and Timothy Barnett.

Per her wishes, there will be no formal service. The family thanks everyone for their respect and understanding.

The family wants to extend deepest gratitude for the care and support from Lisa Hurley of the ADRC, Sharon S Richardson Community Hospice, Debbie Meier & Lions Tri-City Medical Equipment Locker, and Embrace Care Management. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Judi to a personal charity that helps animals, the planet, or our fellow humans. Mom thought kindness was important.

So, put on some music, dance, and share your joy. Life is brief.
