Joyce E.
Lulloff
Nov 19, 1935 — Jul 5, 2021
Kiel
Joyce E. Lulloff, age 85, died peacefully Monday, July 5, 2021 at Harvest Home in Howards Grove surrounded by her family.
Joyce was born November 19, 1935 to the late Clarence and Alouise (Csida) Koeppen. On April 11, 1953, Joyce married the love her of life, Roman Lulloff. They celebrated 60 years together, before he preceded her in death on December 1, 2013.
Joyce and Roman started their family almost immediately after they were married. Their love of children blessed them with 15—a bit short of their goal of 21.
Together they raised their 15 children on the family farm which they started together. Joyce was a stay-at-home mom devoting her life to her family. There was always great food on the table, delicious desserts, fresh bakery, and loads of fresh vegetables from their garden.
Her love for children landed her a job as a school bus driver in the Kiel School District for about 30 years. She absolutely loved her bus kids, which she always referred to as "her kids." She would come home after each route with stories about her kids, always with a smile.
Joyce will always be remembered as a kind and loving wife, mom, grandma and friend by her family and all who knew her. She was "Gramma" to more than just her own family. Joyce's loved-ones will forever cherish her humorous and loving nature, as well as gathering around her kitchen table, which was always full of delicious food, love, and lots of laughter. She was devoted to her family—her family always came first. She would host the most fabulous holiday celebrations preparing the most delectable feasts. Her house was filled (literally filled) with family, amazing smells, and food to feed an army. She would love listening to stories that her children would tell. You could often find her sitting at the head of the table, rosy-cheeked, with tears of laughter streaming down her face as she listened to their stories.
Joyce enjoyed being outside. If you drove by, you may have seen her watering her beautiful flowers, hoeing in her garden or picking raspberries when she wasn't helping Roman in the fields picking stones or baling hay.
Joyce is remembered by her family, including her children, James (Ramona) Lulloff, John (Vickie Bryant), Joan (Ronald) Staats, Dina (Richard) Hersey, Charlie (Kathy) Lulloff, Mary (Russell) Bonde, Jean (David Scroggins), Daniel (Patrick Uselding), David (Cody Grizzoffi), Jill (Robert) Rutten, Peggy (Matt Grohskopf), her son-in-law Paul Pethan, her 33 grandchildren and 41+ great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joyce has reunited with her husband, Roman Lulloff, her children Diane Lulloff, Victoria Pethan, Paul Lulloff, and Susie Lulloff, her brother Alan and wife, Flora Koeppen, her sister Jenis and husband Pat LaFluer, her mom and dad Alouise (Brocker) and Clarence Koeppen, and all of Roman's family in their eternal life.
Mass of Christian Burial for Joyce will take place at 1:00PM on Friday, July 9, 2021 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (413 Fremont St, Kiel). Officiating at the service will be Fr. Carl Diederichs and Pastoral Leader Joe Zenk assisting. Joyce will be laid to rest next to her husband at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 11:00AM until 12:45PM.
Joyce's family would like to thank Field of Dreams Assisted Living for their caring during her stay. A special thanks to Heartland Hospice and Harvest Home for the love and compassion shown to Joyce. We deeply appreciate all that you did.
