Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" Sue (Willadsen) Wegner, 90, died peacefully at home in her sleep early Friday, April 28, 2023. She was born June 20, 1932 to John and Norma (Ninnemann) Willadsen in Sheboygan Falls. She attended Sheboygan Falls Schools, graduating in 1950.

After high school, she attended St. Vincent School of Pediatric Nursing in Chicago, graduating in 1952.

Jackie married Frederick "Fritz" Wegner May 8, 1954 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls and worked for a short time with Dr. Alvin Theiler before having children. While raising children she held a variety of part-time jobs, eventually working many years as a clerk/teller at First Northern Bank in Kiel. She especially enjoyed customer and coworker relationships.

Jackie was a faithful and very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kiel. She was a member of the choir for 43 years. She also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years and helped count offerings following Sunday services. Part of her commitment to Trinity included helping with various ladies' aid activities. She became a surrogate "grandma" to many children who were involved in sports and other extracurricular activities at Trinity Lutheran School.

For many years, Jackie enjoyed bowling in a league at Wagner's Lanes with the local ladies. She also enjoyed league golfing at Hickory Hills and Crystal Lake Golf Course. Friday evenings were spent golfing with her husband Fritz in a couples' league.

The family cottage at Cedar Lake was a place of great joy and entertainment, especially weekend cards with the neighbors and watching the kids waterski.

Throughout her married life, girlfriends were important. She belonged to several card clubs, and after moving to Kristel Heights, she enjoyed dominoes, bingo, and socializing within the condo community.

Later in life, Jackie excelled in fine embroidery and loved making yarn-wrapped hangers for family and friends. She also enjoyed reading.

Survivors include her two children, Wendy Wegner, Kiel, and Jayne (Dean) Meyer, New Holstein; her grandchildren, John Teisberg, Sasha Streiber (Brian Kofke), Aric Streiber (Kathleen McTier), and Alicia Streiber; step-grandchildren, Josh Meyer, Jamie (Roberta) Meyer, Andrea (Josh) Ewald, and Kate Meyer; great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, Hawkin and Sterling Kofke, Grace and Ella Meyer, and Taylor, Owen, and Chase Ewald. She is further survived by one sister, Sally (Tom) Reinemann, sister-in-law Fritzie Willadsen, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Frederick, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Glenn Willadsen and her sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Sippel; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edward and Isabel Wegner, niece, Nadene Wegner, and nephew's wife, Barb Wegner.
