Herman Loos, 85, of Kiel died Monday afternoon May 20, 2024 at Lakehouse Assisted Living in New Holstein. He was born on September 13, 1938 in Sheboygan, son of the late Arthur H. and Olga (Gosse) Loos. Herman attended school in the Town of Schleswig.

At the age of 17, Herman began working for the City of Kiel. For more than 45 years he was a dedicated employee for the city, holding different positions throughout the years until his retirement.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Kiel. In his free time he enjoyed wood working and wood crafts, especially making bird houses. He enjoyed cards and was a model car collector. Herman faithfully attended his Wednesday and Saturday morning meetings at the Presbyterian Church for more than 30 years. When he had the chance he also enjoyed visiting with friends and family.

He is survived by numerous friends and neighbors who had helped him in so many ways over the years along with cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; Arthur Loos and Olga Loos Steffen.

Funeral Services for Herman will be held on Friday May 31, 2024 at 6:00pm at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home (815 6th St.) with Pastor Brett Nauman officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00pm until the time of Services at 6:00pm. Burial will take place at a later date.
