Obituary

Gordon R. Roeh, age 62, formerly of Kiel, currently residing in Manitowoc died peacefully on Saturday morning, February 3, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center, Manitowoc County.

Gordy was born to the late Harold and Elaine (Orchekowsky) Roeh on July 19, 1961 in Plymouth.  He was employed with the Holiday House now known as Ascend until his retirement.  Gordy loved to watch a good Western Movie, and enjoyed his superheroes Spiderman and Batman.  He was most proud of his accomplishments on the Manitowoc County Special Olympics Bowling team, and he would enjoy a nice ride on the back of Gary's motorcycle; nothing would excite Gordy more than a trip to McDonald's for a "Hammy" and a good Coke.  Although Gordy struggled through life with his disabilities, he always knew how to smile and enjoy many adventures in life.  Being with family was his greatest joy.

Gordy is survived by his siblings: Robert (Georgianne) Roeh, Gary (Lola) Roeh, Betty Wasmer and Don (Patty) Roeh and his Rainbow House family.  He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law: Tom Wasmer.

Funeral Services for Gordy will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 3:00PM at Meisewitz-Vollstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home (815 6th St.), Kiel with Deacon Bernard "Pat" Knier officiating.  He will be laid to rest with his parents at New Holstein City Cemetery following the service.  The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 1:00PM until the time of service at 3:00PM. Please feel free to watch the livestream service if you are unable to attend on Thursday, the link will be posted here on Thursday.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to his staff at the Rainbow House in Manitowoc for always treating him like family, as well as Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County as well as Aurora Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Gordy in his last few days.
