Obituary

Glenroy I. Barts, 78, of Town Rhine, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice after a short illness.

Glenroy was born February 25, 1943, in Manitowoc County to the late Edgar and Elsie (Rades) Barts. He started his career as a mechanic at Puetz Automotive and retired from Stoelting in 1995 due to the onset of muscular dystrophy. Glenroy was a horse owner and member of the Rim Rock Riders. He frequented many local parades with his favorite equine "Cheo". Every summer he enjoyed making hay. He was also an avid outdoorsman; loved his time hunting and fishing until his condition worsened. Glenroy enjoyed looking for deer and bird watching out of his window. Glenroy was also a craftsman, building the barn on his property from the ground up. Above all; his love for his family, especially his grandchildren, was evident in his daily life.

Survivors include his children; Jesse Barts, Jodi (Mark) Faust and Jason (AJ) Barts; his grandchildren, Joseph (Anne) Barts, Taylor (Tyler) Popp, Montana and Sequoia Faust, Ciara Barts and Logan Shaver; his great-grandchildren, Trey, Gavin, Zoey and Easton. Magoo (BooBoo), his sidekick and loyal companion. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Florence (Norman) Rietbrock, Merlin (Madolin) Barts, Marlene Reiss and James Barts.

Private family services were held. Visitation will be held from 4 pm until 6 pm on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home (815 6 th Street, Kiel).

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Glenroy's caregivers, Michele M. and Tami A. and the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, especially Dan and Mallory.
