Ethel Helen Heberlein beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many passed away at the age of 95 on Saturday September 26, 2026. She is the former Ethel Baumann born on June 13, 1931 in Kiel daughter of the late Hilton and Alvina (Eickhorn) Baumann. Ethel graduated from Kiel High School with the class of 1949.

On June 7, 1950 she was united in marriage to Arthur Heberlein at St. Peter UCC, Kiel. Ethel took great pride in raising her family and taking care of her home. She was a librarian in Kiel for 15 years, retiring in 2006 at the age of 75. She celebrated her retirement with a trip to California to build a float for the Rose Bowl. In her free time she belonged to the Family Pride Homemakers Club and several card clubs. Ethel enjoyed reading and doing crafts. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter UCC, Kiel

Survivors include her husband of 76 years, Arthur, her children; Debra Hayek of St. Louis, Paula (Larry) DeSmidt of Kiel, Robert (Vicky) Heberlein of Howards Grove, Ken (Jeanne) Heberlein of Kiel, Nancy Boutchard of Kiel and Patti (friend Brett) Krupp of Chilton, 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, brother-in-law; Arnold (Evelyn) Heberlein along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law; Brian Hayek, siblings; Agnes (Ralph) Keith, Bernice (Elmer) Jens, Melvin (Elnore) Baumann, Evelyn (Paul) Steinhardt, father-in-law and mother-in-law; Art and Viola Heberlein.
