Betty did all the cooking and cleaning for the bar; with numerous amounts of homemade chili, hamburgers, steaks, toasted cheese, homemade coleslaw, potato salad and Fish Fry's every Friday.  After the bar closed, she regretted not having her own house so, she had a modular home built for herself next to her daughter, Darlene.

Betty was a member of St. Fidelis, Meeme, St. Isidore, Osman, and a current member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community; she was also active with the Christian Mother's when she was able.
