Douglas S. Lax, age 56 of rural Elkhart Lake, died unexpectedly on  Friday, February 24, 2023.  Doug was born on June 29, 1966 in Sheboygan, son of Anthony and Lynn (Sievert) Lax.

He was a graduate of Sheboygan South High School in 1984.  On September 2, 1995, he married Annette Schultz.  He later married Jane Fontaine on August 24, 2013. He was employed at Franzen Lithograph until he retired, at which time he handled their businesses; Rolling Meadows Kennel, a daycare and boarding business, and Amora Vizsla, a Vizsla breeder.  He belonged to the Kiel Fish and Game Sportsmen Club.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and anything to do with the outdoors.  He loved working with his hands, which involved building three homes for his family.

Doug is survived by his children, Chad Lax and Breann Lax; stepchildren, Michael Konop, Danielle Hannon and Johnathan Hannon; step-grandchildren, Isabella, Sawyer and Garrett Konop; parents; sister, Deborah (Jeffrey) Holt; nephews, Jeb (Steve) Holt and Robert (Jessica) Holt; niece, Alexandria (Jake) Geiger and mother-in-law, Priscilla Fontaine.

He was preceded in death by his sister, his grandparents, his father-in-law, James Fontaine, his step-daughter-in-law, Shantel Konop and his step-grandson, William.

Per Doug's wishes, cremation has taken place and private services were held.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
