Dennis
Spindler
Aug 29, 1947 — Dec 16, 2024
Elkhart Lake
Dennis Roland Spindler left this world too soon on December 16, 2024. He was born August 29, 1947 to the late Melvin and Harriet (Hitsman) Spindler. Dennis lived in Elkhart Lake all his life. He graduated in 1965 from Elkhart Lake High School. He worked on his parent's farm. Dennis also delivered milk cans for Fritz Hasler to Cascade Cheese. He hauled milk for Albert Schultz which was delivered to S&R Cheese. He then worked in the factory of S&R Cheese for 23 years. In 1996, he went to Sohn Manufacturing until he retired in 2012.
Dennis was united in marriage to the love of his life, Katherine (nee Cortinaz) on October 26, 1991 at St. Paul's Christian Church. On that day, he also became a stepfather but they only thought of him as a father.
Dennis had many hobbies and interests. He played softball in his younger years. He also enjoyed playing dartball in two leagues (Senior and Tuesday Night), horseshoes, deer hunting, camping, watching sports, especially the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers, but his all time favorite to watch was when his nieces played softball and basketball and when his granddaughters played volleyball and basketball. He especially enjoyed going deer hunting in Nicolet National Forest on Huff Creek with the Shackman for 50 years which he started going to with his dad.
Dennis loved spending every Saturday with the grandkids by going to the dump and then going to Roecks Bakery for a donut. They would always stop somewhere to eat the donut before coming home. He would tell them "It's our little secret, don't tell mom and grandma."
He was so excited when he became a great-grandpa. Family meant everything to him.
In addition to his wife, Katherine, he is survived by his step-children, Joy (Brian) O'Neil, Lee (Darien) Kapellen; his adoptive step-daughter, Julie Kolpin; his grandchildren, Candice (Tyler) Raschella, Alyssa Bartlett (special friend, Nathan), and Britney Bartlett (special friend, Devon); his great-grandchild, Raelynn; sister, Diane (Robert) Kissinger; his nieces, Janet (Matt) Koele, Becky (Josh) Kissinger and Katie (Philip) Wimmler; his nephew-in-law, Allan Luebke; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Lydia Luebke, Adam Luebke, Beth Koele, Michael Koele, Sophie Kissinger, Melvin Kissinger, Ella Wimmler, Ian Wimmler and Ethan Wimmler. He is further survived by many friends and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Godfather, Roland Spindler, his niece, Karen Luebke, his mother-in-law, Julia Cortinaz and many aunts and uncles.
