Obituary

Dale Wollersheim, 75, of Kiel, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024. He was born January 10, 1949 in Fond du Lac son of the late Lawrence and Verna (Schmidt) Wollersheim.

On June 8, 1968 he married Donna Mae Ninmer at St. Peter UCC, Kiel.  Whipper, as he was known by most, was a long time dedicated employee of Walsdorf Roofing, Kiel.  He started there when he was 19 and continued to work for them until his retirement when he was 65, when he switched over to part time until the present. Even after retirement he would stop by the shop and spend time with the guys who worked there with him. If he wasn't at Walsdorf you could find him out helping someone else with their projects, cutting grass, collecting and crushing cans and feeding his birds.  Whipper enjoyed time spent babysitting Logan's dog Lotto and the time he could spend with his grandchildren. He and Donna had a wide group of friends and family that enjoyed spending weekends and holidays camping.  Whipper started his morning with a cup of McDonald's coffee and a scratch off.

Whip is survived by his two children: Amy (Todd) Meyer and Steve (Jessica) Wollersheim, six grandsons: Logan Peter (Marilee), Devyn Peter, Nicholas Lefeber (Fiancee, Kacie), Coulton Meyer, Mason Meyer (Julie) and Tye Wollersheim; sisters and brother: Janice Schneider, Larry Wollersheim, Sandra (Bob) Bowe; mother-in-law, Gertrude Ninmer;  brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary (Lana) Ninmer, Linda Jochimsen, and Daniel (Kelly) Ninmer; and Gwen Ninmer along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Donna, he was preceded in death by his daughter Stacy, sister Karen (Dan) Walsdorf; brothers-in-law, David and Michael Ninmer, Howard Jochimsen and Cyril Schneider; nephews, Keith Jochimsen and David Karstaedt; father-in-law, Orville Ninmer.

Funeral Services for Whipper will be held at 5:30 PM on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Meiselwitz-Volstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home (815 6th Street, Kiel).  He will be laid to rest next to Donna at Kiel City Cemetery on Friday. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:30 PM until 5:15PM when we will have brief family rites before the service starts.
