Caroline Mary Scharenbroch, 92, a resident at Lakehouse Assisted Living died Monday afternoon March 23, 2026 at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice.  She was born on February 9, 1934 in Sheboygan and grew up in Cleveland, daughter of the late William and Magdalena (Schneider) Schneider. Caroline was a 1952 graduate of Central High School.  She attended Holy Family Nursing School and began her career as caregiver. She later attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Oshkosh graduating in 1960 as a Registered Nurse.

Caroline was united in marriage to Raymond Scharenbroch on August 20, 1960.  Caroline was a stay at home mom for 11 years. She took great pride in raising her family. As they grew older she went back to work at the Calumet County Homestead for 7 years and St. Nicholas Hospital for 18 years.  Caroline volunteered at Rocky Knoll and gave flu shots at Aurora Health Care for many years. She later worked at Sharon Richardson Hospice as a bereavement helper.  Caroline's special gift was caring for others as a mother, grandmother and nurse.

She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she served with the Christian Women, holding the position of officer for 8 years. She enjoyed volunteering at the Roosters Reading Program at Zielanis Elementary School. In her free time she could be found flower gardening, baking and cooking. Caroline mostly enjoyed hosting family gatherings in her home.

Survivors include her 4 children; Gail (Michael) Ashmore, Brian (Julie), Mary (Jerry) Reszczynski and Daniel (Tammy). She is further survived by 3 sisters-in-law; Bernice Schnell, Betty Owens and Agnes Scharenbroch.  Caroline is also survived by many grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Raymond, and 2 brothers; Ray (Luella) Schneider and Eugene (Lorraine) Schneider.

A Funeral Service for Caroline will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday March 28, 2026 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home (815 6th St. Kiel) The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00am until 11:45am at the Funeral Home when we will have brief family rites before the service at 12:00pm.
