Audrey M.
Zorn
Jul 31, 1938 — Sep 11, 2023
Kiel
Audrey M. Zorn, 85, of Kiel, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice with her family at her side.
Audrey was born July 31, 1938, in the Town of Rhine, the daughter of Louis Sr. and Katherine (Meyer) Koeser. She attended Harrison Elementary School and Kiel High School. After high school she was employed by Hansen Glove, a mostly female glove manufacturer on the corner of 1st and Main Street in Kiel.
On October 19, 1957 Audrey married Roger L. Zorn at St. George Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake. They purchased their first home in Kiel shortly thereafter and it is here they raised their five children. Audrey took great pride in her family and community. She volunteered at Ss. Peter and Paul School while her children were in attendance, and as grandchildren came into the mix, she enjoyed caring for them as well.
Roger and Audrey were avid Raiders fans who attended as many sporting events as possible for their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They loved their family more than anything else. Together they were active members of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Roger preceded her in death on June 23, 2017.
Audrey was a member of the Christian Women where she volunteered at the iconic pie stand at the Kiel Picnic and worked at many funeral and salad luncheons at the church. Audrey and Roger worked side-by-side at the Kiwanis Food Stand at Road America for many years. They enjoyed trips to Oneida to play bingo with the many friends they met there.
Audrey was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a witty personality and could always make you smile with one of her silly jokes. She will be greatly missed for her extensive variety of homemade Christmas candies and Thanksgiving pies. Audrey never missed a birthday, always gave thoughtful gifts, and decorated the house for every holiday. Holiday gatherings were always special for the entire family, especially Christmas where she took great joy in making sure all the grandchildren had plenty of gifts and special treats. Audrey may be gone, but she will never be forgotten. Until we meet again.
Survivors include her four children; Cal (Sharon) Zorn of Elkhart Lake, Jeanne (Ken) Heberlein of Kiel, Todd (Rachelle) Zorn of Fort Atkinson, Kenny Zorn of Kiel, her grandchildren; Nicole (Eric) Josing, Jennifer (Quinn) Madson, Matt (Amanda) Zorn, Josh (Holly) Zorn, Heather (Joe) Klahn, Heidi (Jason) Tschudy, Tony (Jamie) Gries, Chris (Miranda) Gries, Ben Gries (Haley), Brandon (Libby) Gries, Landon, Jada and Berlyn Zorn, Jarmaine Jackson, Harrison Zorn and Julia Gabrielse, 20 great grandchildren, Cameron, Scarlett, Solomon, Madelyn, Cayden, Austin, Zariah, Brecken, Harper, Javin, Dawson, Brianna, Camryn, Claire, Caeli, Kateri, Anthony, Aria, Brookes and Huntley. She is further survived by one son-in-law; Dennis Gries, sisters; Bonnie Hasler, Marlene Frauenfeld and Virgina Voland, sisters-in-law; Lindy Zorn and Mildred Zorn along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Roger, a daughter; Sandy Gries, mother-in-law and father-in-law; Lidwina & Raymond Zorn, sisters; Delores (Leroy) Schweitzer, Elaine (Eugene) Christel, brothers; Elroy (Joanne) Koeser, Louis Koeser Jr. brothers-in-law; Victor Frauenfeld, Elwood Voland, Marvin Hasler, Gerry Zorn and Robert Zorn.
