Alfrieda M. Becher, 101, formerly of Town of Schleswig passed away on Tuesday evening January 9, 2018 at Oak Creek Assisted Living where she had resided for the past four years. She is the former Alfrieda Ninmer, born on January 29, 1916 in the Town of Schleswig, daughter of the late August C. & Adela (Brocker) Ninmer. Alfrieda attended Woodland Park school where her father taught. On June 8, 1935 she was united in marriage to Willie C. Becher at St. Peter Reformed Church, Kiel. They celebrated 50 years together in 1985. Willie preceded her in death on March 4, 1988. The couple enjoyed farming together at Woodland Park Farms in the Town of Schleswig. She retired in 1979 but continued to help her son on the farm after retirement. Alfrieda was a lifelong and oldest member of St. Peter UCC, Kiel. She enjoyed doing word searches in her free time.

She is survived by her children: Gerald (Marcy) Becher, MaryAnn (Victor) Richter, both of rural Kiel; three grandchildren: Terry (Lorie) Becher, Jayden (Heidi) Richter, Dr. Joylyn (Dr. Marvin) Moore; six great-grandchildren: Andrew "AJ" & Ashley Becher, Owen & Dane Moore, Ian & Colton Richter; and special cousin Bernice Palazzo.

Alfrieda was preceded by her parents, husband, grandson, and sister.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home (815 6th St, Kiel) with the Rev. Christopher Ross officiating.

Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday. January 12, 2018 from 4:00pm until the time of services.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
