Helen Hingiss
(January 22, 1920 - June 20, 2012)
Helen Hingiss, age 92 formerly of Kiel and a resident of Libby's House Chilton died Wednesday evening, June 20, 2012. She was the former Helen Kissinger born January 22, 1920 in Kiel, daughter of the late William & Minnie (Fritzemeier) Kissinger. Helen was a 1938 graduate of Kiel High School. She trained at Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago from 1939-1940. She then worked at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital from 1941-1956 in Nursery Care. In 1956 she was employed in the office of Kiel Bottling Works till 1967. On July 25, 1967 she married Alfred F. Hingiss Sr. in Woodstock, IL. Alfred preceded her in death on March 13, 1988. Helen was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Kiel and the Kiel Garden Club. She also was a founding member of the Kiel Historical Society, serving as President for a term and also served on the board for many years. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Jean Kissinger Pfeiffer, New Holstein, one nephew, Michael Kissinger, Kiel, one niece, Mary (Richard) Thomson, Freedom, PA, & great nephews, Michael Thomson, Matthew (Katie) Thomson. She is further survived by step children, Alfred Hingiss Jr, Fort Wayne, IN, Susan Gottsacker, Reno, NV other relatives & friends. She was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Cereny and one brother, Lloyd Kissinger. Funeral services for Helen will be held at 11:30 am Monday, June 25, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church, 727 6th Street, Kiel with Pastor Cheryl Lepak officiating. Burial will take place in the Kiel City Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:30 am until the time of service. A memorial has been established for First Presbyterian Church. Helen's family would like to extend their thanks to the nurses and staff of Hospice Advantage and Libby's House Chilton for the wonderful care she received.
