Betty Ann Prahl

Betty Ann Prahl, 87, died peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2014 at her daughter, Judy's residence in Manitowoc. She was born on April 22, 1926 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late William and Caroline (Martin) Wriedt. On October 21, 1944 she married Kenneth H. Prahl at St. Peters United Church of Christ, Kiel. Betty and Kenneth celebrated 69 years of marriage in October. Betty worked at Tecumseh Products, New Holstein for 30 years, retiring in 1986. She met many of her wonderful and lasting friends while working their. Betty was a member of St .Peters United Church of Christ, Kiel. She loved spending time with her family, tending to her flowers, playing cards, traveling, baking and canning. Betty will be missed by her family and many friends Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, seven sons and two daughters; Denny (Sharon), Gary, Terry (Sherry), Sue (Dennis) Heimermann, Judy (Jim) Vnuk, Howie, Kenny (Julie), Wayne (Dawn) and Mark. She is further survived by twenty grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, five sisters-in-law, Delores Wriedt, Lola Wriedt, Annie Wriedt, Sharon Wriedt and Marilyn Griffith, nieces, nephews and many friends. Betty was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister-in-law, Wally (Lucy), William, John, Jerry and Jack Wriedt, brother-in-law, Jerry Griffith, two daughters-in-law, Sandy & Peggy Prahl, grand daughter-in-law, Carleen Prahl, great granddaughter, Mariah, niece, Cindy and Godchild, David. Funeral services for Betty will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 8, 2014 at St. Peters United Church of Christ, 424 Fremont St., Kiel, with Rev. Judine Duerwaechter officiating. Burial will take place in Schlesiwg Cemetery, Town of Schleswig (Rockville). Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
