Rita-Mae Ramminger, age 77, of St. Anna died peacefully on Thursday, October 11, 2012, surrounded by her family as she waltzed with Lee to their favorite song, “Green Green Grass of Home” on her journey to heaven. Rita-Mae Armbruster was born February 9, 1935 in West Allis, daughter of the late Otto & Wilhelmine (Arndt) Armbruster. She attended Pius XI Catholic High School, graduating in 1953. On May 22, 1954 Rita-Mae pledged her love to Leander Ramminger at St. Rita's Church in West Allis. In October of 1954, the couple purchased a farm and moved to St. Anna. Rita-Mae & Leander celebrated 50 wonderful years together in 2004. Leander preceded her in death on March 17, 2012. Rita-Mae lovingly raised her family and later worked at the former Kiel Food Mart (Food Mart Queen) for a number of years. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, St. Anna where she was a member of the Christian Women, and was an organist for the church for more than 30 years. She also played for the Kiel Senior Citizens Singers. Rita-Mae's greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. Music was a great part of her life. She loved watching Lawrence Welk. She also enjoyed bird watching, gardening & canning, caring for her cats and dogs, playing in her card club and in her earlier years, bowling.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law; Tina Cooney of Plymouth and her children, Amy (Damian Creazzo) Ramminger, Jocelyn (Peter) Sutton, Nick (Lori) Laack. A daughter; Cindy Bradley (Special Friend Larry Wegner) of Chilton and their children, Jeremy, Jennifer & Jessica Bradley, Rob, Nick & Tim Wegner. A daughter; Judy (Randy) Preder of Kiel and their children, Amanda (Neal) Birschbach and Ashley Preder. A son; Duane (Kathy) Ramminger of St. Anna and their children, Rebecca (Mike) Wagner and Nicole Ramminger(Fiance Cameron Carling). A daughter; Sandy (Tim) Buechel of Chilton and their children, Jason (Angela) Hoefler and Mike (Nikki) Buechel. A daughter; Renee’ (Jeff) Juckem of Kiel and their children, Nathan and Trevor Juckem. Along with 23 great grandchildren with one great grandchild on the way. Rita-Mae is further survived by 4 sisters-in-law, Gertie, Erma, Eileen and Marilyn Ramminger. She was preceded in death by a son; Jeff Ramminger, two sons-in-law; Randy Hoefler and Gib Bradley, a grandson; Adam Buechel, a sister; Gertrude Rozga, her in-laws; Alice (Ray) Schad, Randy (Mary Ceil), Alphonse, Edwin, Erwin (Odelia), Ambrose and Anton Jr.
The funeral Mass for Rita Mae will be celebrated at 7:00pm on Monday October 15, 2012 at St. Ann Catholic Church, St. Anna with the Rev. Loren Nys S.D.S. and Rev. Harold Berryman officiating assisted by Deacon Pat Knier and Parish Director, Joe Zenk. Friends and family may call at the church on Monday from 3:00pm until 6:45pm when we will have brief family rites. Burial will be in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, New Holstein. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name. Rita-Mae's family would like to extend their thanks to the entire staff at Willowdale Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein for the compassion and care extended to their mother and to the family for the past years and also to the staff at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
