Ellsworth Buchman

U.S. Veteran

Ellsworth Buchman, age 95, of Kiel, died Wednesday afternoon, July 25, 2012 at his home of natural causes. He was born November 13, 1916, in Kiel, son of the late Philip & Bertha (Temreck) Buchman. He attended Kiel schools. Ellsworth was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Forces, serving during World War II as a medic. On June 29, 1946 he married Veronica Hoefler at St. Ann Catholic Church in St. Anna. Veronica preceded him in death on November 23, 2009. Ellsworth was a self-employed painter for many years until his retirement. He was one of Jehovah's Witness, belonging to the Kiel Congregation. He enjoyed going dancing with his wife and taking drives in the country. He also enjoyed traveling.. Survivors include two sisters; Hazel Kattre of Kiel, Shirley Schlichting of Plymouth, In-laws: Herbert (Stella) Hoefler, Kiel, George (Mildred) Hoefler, New Holstein, Lester (Fern) Hoefler, Green Bay, Edward (Margene) Hoefler, New Holstein, Lucille Koenig, School Hill and Eunice Hoefler, New Holstein. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services for Ellsworth will be held at 1:00 pm. Monday, July 30, 2012 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th St., Kiel with George Enevoldsen presiding. Burial will take place in the Kiel City Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of service
